Our Values

We believe that understanding of context, climate and culture and building relationships are fundamental to good design.

We pride ourselves on the simplicity, efficiency and cohesion of our designs as part of a collaborative team response, not just on the level of innovation or sophistication.

We believe that – with bold environmental design, excellence in the delivery of projects and careful operation of technical systems – better buildings can have a smaller environmental footprint and cost less to own and operate over the lifecycle.

By employing inquisitive young people, investing in their talent and giving them the space to create and succeed, we cultivate a culture that breeds ideas and redefines boundaries.

We think forwards into the future, whilst focusing on the present, and learning from and appreciating the past.

Ultimately, we highly value collaboration and research, working with Clients to develop their unique vision.

We believe in an integrated design process where:

People are the focus. We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when people are the focus of design - beautiful buildings that people want to be in, that they understand and can contribute to.  The streets and spaces in between the buildings should be as joyful and comfortable as the buildings themselves.  This takes design thinking, analysis and care beyond conventional boundaries.  This is where we like to be - applying our creative engineering knowledge and skill to make places where people can thrive.

Be good for the planet. We believe that the property world has a responsibility to make, operate and use buildings in a way that consumes the least resource - be it materials, energy or water.  After all, buildings are the root cause of over 30% of the world’s carbon emissions, so we have a lot to contribute.  As importantly, we believe that buildings with this approach hold better long-term value.

Stick to the budget.  We believe that people-focused environments with urban context and the planet in mind can be delivered for a competitive budget.  Good ideas, well thought through, should be simple to implement and simplicity leads to cost efficiency.

Our business is balanced. We aim to make a reasonable return but not at any cost.  We measure our success by the quality of what we do as well as our bottom line.
